Despite Fitzpatricks affiliation with NHL teams throughout his career, he has never made a significant impact at this level.
It wasn’t until the 2003/04 season that he was able to avoid the minor leagues altogether and stuck it out for the entire year with the Buffalo Sabres. Even then, he only dressed for 60 games, and then again in 2005/06 dressed for only 56 games.
But the Canucks needed depth on their blueline after losing Allen, Jovanovski, Weinrich, Brown, & Carney last year.
So Fitzpatrick if giving them exactly what they need, nothing more and nothing less, just depth.
