20 Goal Scorer

Not common with the Canucks last year. And it looks even more dire this year.

But Taylor Pyatt scored his first goal as a Vancouver Canuck tonight and that puts him on pace now for 20 goals this year.

But it came on a pass from Daniel Sedin.  A backhanded saucer pass from behind the net right onto Pyatt’s stick.

Unbelievable.  Maybe we…no, I’m not going to say it.

Okay, maybe I will.  Maybe we need to split the Sedin’s up, and leave only one of them with Naslund.  Maybe a Sedin has a better ability of making the rest of the line better than Naslund does.

Naslund is a great player, but needs to play with great players.  I think the Sedins are great players that will make those around them great as well.

Daniel was only out there because he was the last player to change from his line, and he hadn’t gotten off yet.  But still, maybe there is something there to take a look at.

Try these combinations on for size:

D. Sedin Kesler Naslund

Pyatt H. Sedin Bulis

It’s crazy that it took a partial line change to get Pyatt & Daniel Sedin on the ice at the same time and it’s that event that sets up Pyatt for his first goal of the season.

But maybe that’s what it’s going to take to get two full scoring lines.
