World Jr’s: Canada 3 Germany 1

Canada secured a spot in the elimination round with their third consectutive win. 

The Canadians came out and did not take the Germans lightly as the US had done a few days prior.  The result was a hard fought, if not boring at times, win.

Go check out the comments from the last game at Calgarypuck.com.  When I was reading it, I couldn’t help but think that if you switched the Calgary names with Canuck names, it’s almost the same story we read consistently here.

Canucks at the World Junior’s

Surprisingly, there are four Canuck draft picks playing in the World Junior Championship tournament this year. 

I say surprisingly becuase the team has no depth right now.  We all know this when we look at the bare cupboard here in Vancouver, then again in Manitoba.

World Jr’s: Canada 2 Sweden 0

I love this time of year.  The office is always operating at a slower pace, and more importantly, the TV’s are on in the lunchrooms with all the World Junior hockey games.

Except this year, I’ve changed companies and there are no TV’s.  Anwhere. 

But fortunately for me, TSN.ca has found a way to broadcast these games live over the internet, so I’ll still get to watch them all.  Mind you, it’ll be by myself as there are no real fans here.

Canuck Coverage

I’ve been slow with posts over the holidays as I’ve been busy with the family.  I’m also lacking motivation because it’s the same story.

If they score 3 goals they win, if they score less than that they lose.  Get used to it.  I’ll still watch as many games as I can, but there’s not much more to write about these days.

Death of the Orca

One of John McCaw’s earliest significant moves as the sole owner of the Vancouver Canucks was to bring a new uniform to the team.

The orange, yellow, & black colours and the Canuck skate and striping had been in use in one shape or another since the late seventies.  While it had transformed from it’s orignal ‘flying v’ to a symbol of the skate, it was still using the same basic design.
