Marketing the NHL – Cuban Style

I recently fell upon Mark Cuban’s personal blog.  Obviously, he’s a guy with an opinion so it only makes sense he has a blog to talk about everything under the sun.

This one particular post completely got my attention.

He makes an excellent argument for how pro sports has marketed itself over the years, and what some of the core issues are with the NHL right now.

While I don’t like some of the personalities he’s spoken of, like Bonds and Owens, I will never forget the Sharpie incident.

I think it’s time the Purists of the sports step aside.  And let the games, all of them, move forward.
