NEWCOMER – Jimmy Sharrow

Junior Team: Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Notable Teammates: Alexandre Picard (Philadelphia);

Best CHL Season: 47 points in 69 games

NHL Draft: Atlanta Thrashers 2003 Round 4 #110 overall

Previous Teams: No NHL Experience, Chicago Wolves (AHL)

Best AHL Season: 18 points in 42 games

It’s hard to get a read here, but this is what I suspect.  Both Sharrow and Shultz had used up their chances with their big club affiliates.  This trade was meant to see if either could be kickstarted in a new environment.

Sharrow has struggled to find defensive consistency.  He has tremendous upside offensively, but he needs to find a way to make better decisions defensively and learn how to make the right decision when deciding to go for offense.

These trades happen all the time with little success.  Don’t expect much in the short term.
